CRUNCHY WHEAT CHIPS

The island of Sardinia is a land of fascinating territorial features that form microcosms packed with a wealth of environmental and cultural heritage. Unusual landscapes, often little known and charmingly unspoilt. Visitors will be enchanted by a trip along the “strade del gusto” (Taste routes), with their typical Sardinian specialities. One of the most typical products from Sardinia is “Carasau” bread, made of durum wheat semolina and sea salt.
CRUNCHY WHEAT CHIPS
Taralluccios CRUNCHY WHEAT CHIPS are based on a traditional product from SARDINIA.
The chips are a modern reinterpretation of the age-old recipe for GUTTIAU BREAD.
Guttiau bread is a tasty version of the famous Carasau bread with its crunchy thin layers: it is made from thin layers of carasau sprinkled with extra-virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt and cooked on the grate over the fire or in the oven for just a few seconds. The result is an extremely crunchy, tasty flat bread with a lingering aroma of the wood used to light the fire.
While the origins of Taralluccios CRUNCHY WHEAT CHIPS lie in the age-old Guttiau bread recipe, we have given them new flavours including Crushed Black Pepper and Paprika to make the traditional flavours even more delicious. They are ideal as nibbles with a glass of wine, as an Italian aperitif!
Taralluccios CRUNCHY WHEAT CHIPS are produced in Sardinia as a modern twist to the age-old recipe, using only the simplest ingredients including durum wheat semolina, salt and adding only natural ingredients such as black pepper and paprika for flavour. Absolutely no artificial flavours or colours!
